Glad to be blogging about our new fun activity. We are Krista and Lance, married couple in early thirties who were looking for a fun new activity to share. After a guided kayak tour in Tofino, BC, last summer, we loved it so much that we decided to get our own boats and really get into kayaking. Krista had taken some lessons years ago and had been trying to convince me to try kayaking for some time. I was worried about the strain on my often sore back but had no problems and loved it the first time out. We live in Vancouver, BC and will be writing about our adventures and experiences on the waters of the lower mainland and surrounding areas in British Columbia, and maybe south of the border as well.

We have matching Necky Looksha 12’ kayaks. We have done some online consumer research and these get great reviews especially for beginners. We are happy to have shorter boats for right now as they are much easier to transport and store. We live in an apartment so we have to store them at a friend’s house. We did not want to impose too much with regards to space on our friend.

We transport the boats on a roof rack and find it pretty easy to easy to get them up and down. The racks are after market aluminum racks with foam kayak cradles and straps. The load and unload very easy - we have just a hatchback and both boats fit beside each other no problem.
