Leslie Palotas & Kathleen Pelto’s Northern B.C. Expedition, Spring ‘07
Leslie Palotas & Kathleen Pelto spent their 27th birthdays kayaking from Prince Rupert to Bella Bella. They originally planned on paddling to Port Hardy as coastally as the weather allowed. Turns out the weather wanted them to have some quality base camp time in the middle of their trip, which altered the route.
More about the expedtion
Aucklund Islands
In April 2007, twenty-three year-old Jack Finn from West Auckland attempted the world’s first solo circumnavigation by sea kayak around sub-Antarctic Auckland islands, all the while raising awareness for Haemophilia. www.haemophilia.org
Barkley Sound
Located right in our backyard, Barkley Sound is on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. This beautiful area offers 800 sq. km. of reefs, inlets and islands to discover. This year several of us explored it for ourselves. Our group included Helen Johnson-Leipold, Mark Leopold, Scott Forristall, Tim Magoon, Nando Zucchi, Spike Gladwin and Murray Hamilton. From the CEO to the guys in R&D, it's important to all of us that we're getting out and using the products that we sell. Hey, it's a tough job, but someone has to do it!
